Hurricane Sandy

October 29, 2012 Hurricane Sandy came to stay
Nobody really knew what was coming their way
Living in a flood zone makes everything worse
I always feel like I'm under a curse
Monday-Wednesday we had no school
And that's because half of New Milford's a pool
I wish the high school had lights and power
Because it's not fun being home, doing nothing for hours

Looking at all the trees down
It's so sad because this is such a small town
There are power lines down everywhere
The whole tri-state area can use a prayer

Now that Sandy left the state
It's time to get our community straight
I hope nothing like this happens in a really long time
All we can do is pray in the meantime.

The Beginning of Senior Year

When the school year began

I wasn't sure I was such a fan

All this work coming my way

Started to make me feel grey

I thought this year would be "easy"

Having Mrs. Collentine is the total opposite of it being breezy

Don't get me wrong, she's the best teacher ever

And wouldn't change to another class whatsoever

I'm going to try my best to get good grades

And hopefully my knowledge will upgrade

This is my last year in high school, so I have to make it unforgettable

But also make sure nothing is regrettable

Hmm..maybe it'll get easier as the time passes

Who knows what will happen in these classes

Taking it one day at a time

I guess I should stop complaining in the meantime.
